Karl Kling loves to tell stories. For a story to be effective, he believes the characters have to be real. People that readers have met in their daily lives. Characters that make a connection, whether you’re rooting for them or against them, they make you feel genuine emotions.
The worst insult you tell Karl about a character, even one in a very limited role, is, “I didn’t really feel anything about that person.”
Through his books, Karl wants to entertain his readers. He always find a way to interject humor (ask his wife). But aside from wanting to make you laugh, he also wants to make you cry, and occasionally make you mad.
In the end, Karl wants to introduce you to people you’ve never met and connect with them.
